Schedule: May 25, 2026 – July 31, 2026 | Approximately 15 hours/week
Compensation: $20/hour + mileage stipend

Position Summary
The Data Storytelling & Impact Reporting Intern turns program and fundraising data into clear, compelling visuals and narratives that demonstrate impact. This role sits at the intersection of data, equity, and communications, helping staff, board, funders, and community members understand how YWCA SHR is making change.
Key Responsibilities
Impact Reporting & Data Organization
- Help design simple, repeatable templates for monthly/quarterly impact reports
- Create board-ready dashboards and charts using Excel/Google Sheets or other tools
- Support grant and funder reporting with clear, data-informed visuals
Data Storytelling & Visual Design
- Translate metrics into infographics, one-pagers, and social graphics
- Design branded materials in Canva and/or Adobe tools
- Support visuals for annual or quarterly impact reports and campaigns
- Contribute to slide decks and presentations for funders and partners
Story & Content Development
- Help develop a story bank of quotes, success stories, and visual examples
- Pair qualitative stories with quantitative program outcomes
- Produce data-driven content for social media, blogs, or newsletters
Qualifications
Minimum
- Current undergrad/grad student in Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, Public Health/Policy, Data Analytics, Nonprofit Management, or related field
- Proficiency with Canva and mobile video apps (e.g., InShot, CapCut); Adobe a plus
- Comfortable with Excel/Google Sheets
- Strong visual storytelling and basic video/audio editing skills
- High attention to detail, strong organization, and respect for confidentiality
- Commitment to racial equity, gender justice, and survivor-centered work
Preferred
- Experience creating dashboards or data visualizations
- Familiarity with nonprofit or human services metrics
- Familiarity with Tableau/ Power BI
- Ability to simplify complex information for non-technical audiences

- Collaboration with a small group of other non-profit agency interns with whom you will meet weekly to deliver on a joint project that will serve as a capstone to the internship
