What You'll Do
In this role, you will take ownership of the commissioning phase of AV integration projects by:
🔧 Technical Execution
- Commission, test, and validate professional AV systems onsite and remotely.
- Load, test, and perform light edits to control system code and GUIs with remote programming support.
- Configure devices such as DSPs, control processors, and touch panels.
- Conduct minor programming updates to meet project functionality requirements.
📋 Project Collaboration
- Work closely with Project Managers, Lead Technicians, Engineers, and Programmers to ensure system functionality aligns with the final Scope of Work.
- Identify issues in system performance, functionality, or design - and collaborate with the team to resolve.
- Assist with offsite commissioning tasks and coordination with field technicians.
📝 Documentation & Turnover
- Maintain accurate system documentation, including as-built updates, configuration files, code, graphics, and testing notes.
- Prepare detailed daily reports covering completed tasks and outstanding items.
- Support client training at project closeout and help secure substantial completion signoff.

- Participate in punch list preparation, troubleshooting, and final system refinement.
- Uphold AVT's commitment to high-quality workmanship.
What You Bring to the Team
- 3+ years of experience in AV Integration, Unified Communications, or Networking.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage details with precision and a sense of urgency.
- Competency reading architectural or engineering drawings.
- CTS or similar industry certifications (preferred).
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Physical ability to handle extended standing/sitting and occasional heavy lifting.
Work Environment
You'll work both onsite and in-office environments, with some travel required. Project schedules may occasionally extend beyond standard business hours - because great AV systems don't always come together on a 9‑to‑5 timeline.
