New Product Development Engineering Manager

What You Get to Do! 

We are seeking a highly experienced New Product Development Engineering Manager to lead cross-functional engineering efforts that drive the strategic development of next-generation environmental monitoring systems. This role involves technical leadership, product strategy, execution excellence, and mentorship within a multidisciplinary team spanning mechanical, electrical, and optical engineering disciplines. 

 

Product Strategy & Innovation

 • Define and execute the product development roadmap for new monitoring systems and enhancements to existing products. 

• Collaborate with product management, marketing, and commercial teams to translate market insights and customer requirements into technical specifications. 

• Lead concept exploration, feasibility assessments, prototyping, and technology evaluation to reduce risk and accelerate innovation. 

 

Engineering Leadership

• Supervise and mentor a multidisciplinary engineering team (mechanical, electrical & optical engineering) 

• Drive strong engineering practices, including design reviews, risk analysis (DFMEA), tolerance stack-up, and verification/validation planning. 

• Establish measurable goals and metrics for engineering performance, product quality, and project delivery. 

 

Project Execution 

• Oversee product development lifecycle from ideation through design, prototyping, testing, certification, and launch. 

• Manage project resources, schedules, and cross-department dependencies to ensure timely deliveries within budget. 

• Ensure alignment with regulatory and quality standards relevant to environmental monitoring, cleanroom applications, and related industries. 

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

• Act as the key technical liaison between engineering, operations, quality assurance, supply chain, and service/support organizations. 

• Facilitate effective communication across teams to accelerate problem resolution, decision-making, and knowledge transfer. 

 

Continuous Improvement 

• Champion continuous improvement practices in engineering processes, product design, and team performance. 

• Keep abreast of emerging technologies and industry standards to inform product strategy. 

 

What You Will Bring… 

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Optical, or related); Master’s or advanced degree preferred. 

• 7+ years of engineering experience with at least 3 years in a technical leadership or management role. 

• Proven track record of leading successful new product development in complex hardware/software systems. 

• Experience with environmental monitoring, instrumentation, sensors, or industrial automation preferred. 

• Strong understanding of electrical/mechanical system design. 

• Familiar with product compliance, testing, calibration requirements, and quality systems. 

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate across functional teams. 

• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and foster a collaborative, innovative culture. 

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision making.
