Cabin Counselor
About the Role - Cabin Counselor:
You’re the anchor of a small cabin community and a hands-on instructor in our choice-based activity program. In the cabin, you’ll co-lead daily routines, set a positive tone, and help 6–15 campers navigate friendships, independence, and the fun chaos of camp life. On the program side, you’ll teach (or help teach) activities almost every day, turning lesson plans into lively, age-appropriate experiences while keeping safety front and center. You’ll collaborate with a 3–4 person counseling team and with Activity Directors who provide lesson planning, coaching, and materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create a safe, supportive, and fun cabin environment
- Supervise campers at all times and ensure their safety and wellbeing
- Lead and/or assist in activity areas (sports, creative arts, outdoor adventure)
- Participate fully in all camp programming, meals, and activities
- Communicate effectively with peers, supervisors, and campers
- Serve as a positive role model and uphold Camps mission and values
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Willingness to live and work in a camp setting
- Previous experience working with children is preferred
- Enthusiastic, patient, and adaptable - able to handle long days and changing situations with a positive attitude

Essential Functions:
- Ability to be on your feet for extended periods of time
- Lift, carry, and move equipment up to 40 lbs
- Monitor safety, hygiene, and wellbeing of campers
